We need volunteers who are: individuals, family groups,
civic, social and service clubs, church groups or classes, and
corporate community involvement teams of all sizes.
The following are example volunteer opportunities needed by a Wish with Wings:
In-Office Volunteers
Assist with duties in our Arlington office. Tasks vary day-to-day
and involve the full scope of office functions such as filing, updating photo albums, adding
to or creating computer records, and cleaning the office. Office hours
are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Translators (primarily Spanish)
Needed on an on-call basis to assist with such tasks as translating letters and
instructions for our families who have limited English capabilities. Translators are
periodically needed to assist with telephone conversations and on-site granting of a
child's Wish. Please call our office for further details.
Writers
Needed for print (primarily news releases), television and radio public service
announcements, informational videos, and training manuals.
Special Event Volunteers
a Wish with Wings, Inc. holds or benefits from a
number of special events. Volunteers work these events and, in some cases, are involved
in planning them. Anyone interested in helping plan one of these events is asked to
call the Wish office.
Christmas Party
This
annual party involves our Wish children and their siblings
who have received a Wish during the calendar year, as well
as those children who are on our Wish waiting list.
Potential sponsors for this event are asked to call us at
(metro) 817-469-9474.
NOTE: There are minimum age restrictions on some events due to insurance
and liability concerns. If your child or teen would like to volunteer for a particular event,
their participation will be evaluated on an event-by-event basis. Failure to comply with
age restrictions could place a Wish with Wings, Inc. in legal jeopardy.
